Flourish Cafe Olivers Hill

Flourish Cafe is a casual breakfast-and-lunch spot at 44 Norman Avenue in Frankston South, near the top of Olivers Hill. It is a handy coffee stop before or after a walk on the hill or down at the foreshore, and dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables out front.

The dog setup

Dogs sit with you in the outdoor seating area, on lead, which is standard for Victorian cafes where pets stay out of indoor dining. Staff are generally accommodating, but the outdoor tables are a handful rather than a courtyard, so they can fill on a good weekend morning. Water bowl availability varies day to day, so a collapsible bowl in the car solves it.

The vibe and the menu

It is a small, cosy room that opens 8am to 2pm daily, so it is a breakfast-and-lunch proposition rather than an all-day one, and weekday visits are the quieter bet. Street parking runs along Norman Avenue just off Nepean Highway, with the hill climb working off the eggs benedict on the way back, and the Olivers Hill lookout loop is the natural add-on.

While you're out there

The Olivers Hill lookout is a short walk up for bay views, and the Sweetwater Creek bushland reserve nearby gives a longer on-lead walk. For off-lead time, Robinsons Park and Delacombe Park are the local dog off-leash areas, and Mr Frankie on the same Norman Avenue strip is the other dog-friendly cafe within a minute's walk.
