Little Venn

Little Venn is the small sibling of Venn Coffee on Albany Highway, and it has quietly become one of East Victoria Park's better morning coffee stops for dog owners. It is a compact specialty coffee bar with a serious bagel game and a community feel, running short morning hours seven days a week.

The dog setup

Dogs join you at the outdoor and footpath tables out the front. Keep them leashed, settled and off the furniture, and expect a water bowl to appear without much fuss, the team here has a genuine reputation with local dog owners. There is no indoor seating for dogs, so on a wet morning this is a takeaway-and-walk option rather than a sit-down one.

Worth knowing

The draw is the coffee and the gluten-free bagels, and the kitchen handles coeliac orders with care, which regulars call out specifically. Vegetarian options are solid too. Hours run 7am to 11am on weekdays and 8am to midday on weekends, so plan your dog walk around the morning, there is no afternoon trade.

Getting there and parking

Little Venn sits at 968 Albany Highway in the East Victoria Park strip, straight onto a Transperth bus route if you are arriving car-free. Street parking along the highway and the side streets is a mix of free and paid, so mind the signs.

Make a day of it

John MacMillan Park is close by for an on-lead stretch of the legs, and the fenced run at Koolbardi Park Fenced Dog Park is a short drive away in Carlisle for a proper session. Fellow dog-friendly coffee stops on this stretch of the Vic Park cafe strip include Cafe Eighty2 and Social Manna.
