Map Map Cafe, also known as The Piggy Coffee, is a family-run Smith Street cafe blending Australian brunch with Vietnamese flavours. The standout for dog owners is that it is one of the rare Darwin cafes that welcomes dogs inside the air-conditioned space, a real relief in the build-up heat.

The dog setup. The cafe is genuinely pet-friendly, with dogs welcome in the air-conditioned indoor seating where they can stay cool, which is unusual for a food venue. Staff have a name for being welcoming to dogs. Bring your own bowl in case water is not on hand, and confirm indoor seating still applies when you arrive.
