Bamboozled Cafe

Bamboozled Cafe is a small, well-liked coffee shop in a commercial complex at Unit 11/62 Keane Street, Currajong, a few minutes from the Townsville city side of the suburbs. It runs a simple formula, generous fresh-made breakfast wraps and salads at fair prices, and locals rate the value highly. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating, which makes it a practical weekday stop in this part of Townsville.

The dog setup

Dogs join you at the footpath and outdoor tables out front, where there is room to settle a lead safely. Staff will usually bring a water bowl out on request, though there is no dedicated dog menu, so plan on your own water and treats in warmer months. Indoors is food-prep space only, so dogs stay outside.

The vibe

The menu runs on coffee, all-day breakfast wraps, burgers, sandwiches and made-to-order salads. The classic Lot Burger comes with a fried egg and beetroot, and the gravy rolls have a following of their own. Hours are 6am to 3:30pm Monday to Friday and closed weekends, so this is strictly a weekday venue: an early coffee before work or a lunchtime stop rather than a weekend brunch run.

Getting there and parking

The complex has free on-site parking and there is free street parking on Keane Street out front, an easy in-and-out stop for takeaway or a sit-down coffee with the dog.

Close by with the dogs

For a proper run after coffee, the Rossiter Park Fenced Dog Park in Aitkenvale is a short drive away and fully fenced with shade. Gleeson's Weir Park's off-leash area in Cranbrook adds water access for dogs that like a swim. Cafe-wise, The Gypsea Collective in Mundingburra and Little Brick Road Espresso are other dog-friendly stops nearby.
