MADE - Kirra

MADE - Kirra is half barber, half barista, sitting at the corner of Musgrave and Miles Streets a stone's throw from Kirra Beach, and it opens at 5:30am sharp for the early crew. For dog owners it is a genuinely easy stop: dogs are welcome at the footpath tables and even inside the small shop, which is a rarity when the afternoon storms roll through.

The dog setup

The space is compact, so the deal is a short lead and a dog parked beside your chair, clear of the counter line. Water bowls are usually out front for visiting dogs, and the team is known for remembering regulars, four-legged ones included. On hot days bring your own bowl backup, because the footpath tables fill early.

The vibe

This is a get-in, get-fuelled, get-to-the-beach kind of cafe. The coffee is organic Moonshine Roasters, the pastries and toasties come from Burleigh Baker, and service is quick. It runs morning-only, 5:30am to 1pm daily, so it is a breakfast-and-coffee stop rather than a lunch destination, and the barbershop side gives it a lively local feel.

Getting there and parking

Free street parking runs along Musgrave Street and the surrounding blocks, though summer mornings get competitive. The cafe is an easy walk from the sand and the coastal path, so many visitors simply leave the car and arrive on foot from their walk.

Close by with the dogs

Kirra Beach sits across the road, and the flat coastal path stretches north and south for an on-lead leg-stretch; the Point Danger Lookout to Currumbin Alley walk is the bigger version of that route. When you need a second coffee, Cafe Kirra is close by, and Kirra Beach Tourist Park takes dogs if you are staying in the area.
