Royal Copenhagen is a Danish-style ice creamery at 75-77 Jetty Road, a couple of minutes up from the Brighton jetty. For dog owners the pull is the house-made dog treat, so this is an easy reward stop at the end of a beach walk.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor seating. A side service window lets you order without leaving your dog at a table, which helps on a busy weekend. Staff make a dog-friendly frozen treat of yoghurt, peanut butter, honey and banana, usually topped with a dog biscuit. Bring a portable water bowl in the warmer months to be safe.

Known for. Homemade Danish-style ice cream, gelato and dairy-free flavours, a self-serve toppings bar, and those doggy cups. It gets packed on weekends and through summer.

Getting there. On Jetty Road, roughly 200 metres from the jetty. Free street parking runs along Jetty Road and side streets like Third Avenue, with more near the Brighton Foodland. It fills quickly at peak times.

Nearby with the dogs. The jetty and beach are a three-minute walk down the road. Note Brighton Beach has on-leash restrictions during the busy summer daytime hours, so check the council signage before letting your dog off lead.
