Favourite Flavours

Favourite Flavours is an ice cream parlour in central Bendigo that has built its following on house-made gelato and ice cream in flavours you will not find in a supermarket freezer. The cabinet runs from vanilla bean and chocolate through to Turkish delight, lemon meringue and ferrero rocher, with sorbets alongside for anyone avoiding dairy. Sausage rolls and light lunch bites cover the savoury side, and the footpath tables out the front are where the dogs settle in, usually hoping the order includes something for them too.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor footpath tables on a lead, with the shop itself kept for people. The parlour often makes pup cups, a dog-friendly scoop of its own, so your dog gets a course while you work through the gelato range. Bring water on warm days, because the frontage catches the sun and shade at the tables is limited.

Worth knowing

Hours run 9:30am to 5pm Tuesday to Sunday, with Mondays closed. Weekend afternoons draw families picking up tubs to take home, so mornings are the calm window if you want an easy table. The scoops are generous, and a tub to go is the usual move for larger groups.

Getting there and parking

The parlour lists its home on Napier Street in central Bendigo, an easy stop from the city centre with street parking along the block and more options through the CBD grid. Lake Weeroona is a short drive away, which makes this a natural finish to a morning lap of the water.

A loop of Lake Weeroona is the classic on-lead walk in Bendigo, and pairing it with a scoop here is a local ritual.
