An ice cream parlour sitting directly opposite Lake Weeroona on McCrae Street, Favourite Flavours is built for the after-walk treat. It is genuinely pet-friendly, footpath seating for you and pup cups for the dog, which makes it the obvious pairing with a loop of the lake.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome at the footpath tables out front, on lead, with views across to the lake. Pets stay outside the shop itself. The standout is that the parlour often makes pup cups, a dog-friendly ice cream, so your dog gets a treat too. Bring water for a warm day.

Good to know. The range of premium ice cream and gelato is the headline, with sausage rolls and light lunch bites if you want more than a scoop.

Getting there and parking. Find it at 226 McCrae Street. Street parking runs along McCrae Street and there is parking by Lake Weeroona opposite. It is an easy 5 to 10 minute walk from the city centre, or a natural stop mid lake-walk.

Nearby with the dogs. Lake Weeroona is right across the road, the premier on-lead walk in town, and the paved Bendigo Creek Trail links in for a longer outing.

Best as the reward at the end of a Lake Weeroona lap. Good for sociable dogs who like a treat of their own.
