Spring Gully Oval Dog Off Leash Area

Spring Gully Oval sits at 133-135 Spring Gully Road, a few minutes south of Bendigo's centre, and the off-leash area covers the oval itself. It is an open reserve fringed by native vegetation rather than a fenced dog park, which changes how you use it: this is a place for dogs with dependable recall, and the surrounding gum trees and creek reserves give it a proper bushside feel.

City of Greater Bendigo rules apply: dogs must stay under effective voice control while off-leash, back on the leash within 10 metres of playground equipment and BBQ areas, and leashed whenever organised sport or a booking has the oval. Your dog needs to be registered, and you are expected to carry bags and bin the waste, with bins generally provided on site.

Amenities are basic. There is seating near the oval and walking tracks leading off into the creek reserves, but no reliable water tap, so bring a bottle and a bowl. Weekday middays between 11am and 2pm are the quiet stretch, while weekend mornings and late weekday afternoons draw the regulars. Sporting use takes priority when it is booked, so have a fallback in mind on game days.

From central Bendigo, take McIvor Road or head straight out along Spring Gully Road; the oval is on the road into Spring Gully. Unstructured parking sits right beside the oval, and street parking runs along Spring Gully Road. The Route 52 bus services Spring Gully Road if you would rather leave the car at home.
