Tuart Walk

Tuart trees up to 40 metres tall tower over this flat, sealed path, which runs about 1.2 kilometres from Usher toward Dalyellup through the Shearwater Tuart Forest. It is an all-abilities, on-lead walk with deep natural shade.

Lead rules

Dogs are welcome on a lead at all times. The trail crosses the City of Bunbury and the Shire of Capel, with parts inside Kalgulup Regional Park.

The walk

The path is high-quality asphalt, built to an all-abilities standard. Peppermint woodland, banksias and wildflowers fill the understorey beneath the tuarts.

Start at the corner of Ocean Drive and Mosedale Avenue in Usher, where there is street-side access. The southern end is at Maidment Parade near Dalyellup.

There is no dog water on the path and few bins, so carry water and bags.

Max: Snakes are a known risk in this forest. Keep the lead short and stay on the path.

Pair it with

Finish at the Dalyellup end with a feed at Last Slice Dalyellup, or add another walk at Manea Park Walking Trail.

The canopy makes this a solid summer choice, and the smooth, level surface suits older dogs.
