Tomerong Creek Walk

A shaded dirt path follows Tomerong Creek near the village of Tomerong, in the Shoalhaven. It is informal and unmeasured, and dogs walk on lead.

Lead rules

Shoalhaven City Council requires dogs to be on a lead in public places unless a spot is signed off-lead, and this creek path is not. Check the signs at the entry for any wildlife restrictions.

On the path

Native trees close over much of the track, so it stays cooler than open streets in summer. Depending on recent rain, there may be spots where a dog can wade at the creek edge.

There are no bubblers or bins, so carry water, a bowl and bags. Parking is on the roadside near the access points.

When to go

Warm afternoons are when the canopy earns its keep. It suits dogs that like a slow, sniff-heavy bush walk more than a long hike.
