Pet policy
Dogs on lead at Nesbitt Park; council off-lead areas are elsewhere, e.g. Riverside and Hepburn parks (Lismore City Council).
Nesbitt Park on Casino Street is South Lismore's big open space, and its sealed track makes a tidy loop of about a kilometre around the sports fields. Dogs are welcome on lead.
Lead rules
Lismore City Council treats the park as an on-lead area. For off-lead play, council's designated areas are elsewhere in town, such as Riverside Park and Hepburn Park.
The loop
The walking and jogging track is concrete and asphalt, about 3 metres wide, so there is room to pass other walkers. It circles open playing fields, an all-abilities playground and an asphalt pump track.
Bins are in and around the park, and council has opened a new amenities block. Street parking is along Casino Street.
Max: The pump track draws bikes and scooters, so keep the lead short as you pass it.
Pair it with
Walk on to Heritage Park, or finish at Two Mates Brewing nearby.
Flat and paved, it suits older dogs; the open fields get hot, so go early in summer.
