Heritage Park(Lismore)

Heritage Park's path is a 2.5-metre-wide concrete spine through central Lismore, off Molesworth Street on the Girards Hill edge, linking the city to the Wilsons River. Dogs are welcome on lead.

Lead rules

Lismore City Council requires dogs to stay on a leash in Heritage Park and the adjoining Riverside Park. For off-lead time, head to the fenced Lismore River Dog Park beside the Wilsons River.

The walk

It is a short, smooth walk, easy on older dogs and prams. Along the way you pass manicured lawns, a miniature railway circuit and play equipment.

The highlight is a raised deck built around a 90-year-old fig tree, before the path carries on to the river.

Water and shade

Mature trees shade parts of the path, but some stretches are in full sun. Water on the route is limited, so carry a bottle and bowl.

Bins are near the main entries and picnic spots, and there is free street parking around the reserve.

Make a day of it

For a bushier walk, try Wilsons Walking Track in Girards Hill, then finish at Two Mates Brewing in South Lismore.

In summer, go in the morning before the open sections heat up.
