Perthville Walkway

The Perthville Walkway follows Queen Charlottes Vale Creek through this small village south of Bathurst. It is flat, quiet and rural, and dogs walk it on lead.

Lead rules

Keep your dog leashed on the walkway itself. For a run, Bathurst Regional Council lists Brian Booth Oval on Queen Street, which sits beside the same creek, as an off-lead area.

The walk

The path is level and runs beside the creek, with open farm country beyond. There is no official length, so treat it as a stroll you can stretch or shorten.

Mature trees shade parts of the creek bank. Facilities are few along the strip, so bring water and bags, and park on the street near the village centre.

Pepsi: Carry a bottle and bowl so a thirsty dog is not drinking from the creek.

A good gentle walk for older dogs, best on a cool morning or late afternoon in summer.
