Park Ridge Foreshore

Park Ridge Foreshore Reserve on Estuary Road in Bouvard looks straight across the Peel-Harvey Estuary, and its shallow edge lets an on-lead dog paddle in calm water.

Lead rules

The City of Mandurah manages the reserve, and dogs must be on a lead. It is not fenced, so keep a close eye near the road and the picnic areas.

The walk

The track follows the water's edge over compacted ground, grass and informal stone and earth paths. Native trees and grassy patches break it up, and it is a good stretch for spotting waterbirds and people fishing.

The shallow entry is where dogs cool off. Bring a bowl and fresh water as well, since a dog bubbler is not guaranteed.

Facilities

Toilets are on site, bins sit around the picnic and parking areas, and there is parking near the foreshore. Established trees give shade for a rest, with picnic benches, barbecues and a small playground close by.

Thorny Devil Brewery in Herron is the nearby stop for a drink after the walk.

Calm mornings bring the flattest water and the best birdlife. It suits dogs who like a gentle splash more than surf.
