North Motton Recreation Ground

North Motton Recreation Ground is a quiet country ground outside Ulverstone. Its grass edges give you an easy lap with the dog on lead, away from town traffic.

The walk

There's no formal track. You walk the grass perimeter around the open ground, past a small playground, with farmland views on every side.

It's a short, low-key outing, best for a sniff-and-stroll rather than a big workout.

Lead rules

Central Coast Council manages the ground. Dogs are welcome around the perimeter on a leash.

Give the playground a wide berth when children are using it.

What to bring

There are no confirmed taps or dog water stations, so bring water and a bowl. Bins are few, so carry bags and take them home.

A few mature trees give scattered shade, but most of the ground is open to sun and wind.

Parking is informal, next to the ground or on the roadside.

Max: Out here the ground is open on every side. Keep the lead on, even when it looks empty.
