Mount Torrens Oval Loop

Mount Torrens Oval sits on the edge of this small Adelaide Hills town, and a lap of its perimeter makes an easy leg-stretch with rolling pasture all around. Adelaide Hills Council rules apply, so keep dogs on lead.

Lead rules

Council requires a lead no longer than 2 metres on footpaths, streets and roads, near playgrounds, and on reserves while organised sport is on.

The walk

The loop is open and flat, with room to move and no rough bush track. Mature trees give some shade, but much of the oval is exposed to the sun.

Off-street parking is at the oval, next to the playground and clubrooms. Bring water and bags, as dog bowls and dog bins are not listed.

Go further

The Amy Gillett Pathway passes through town, a sealed 22 kilometre path on the old railway line linking Birdwood, Mount Torrens, Charleston, Woodside and Oakbank. It is smooth and flat for a longer on-lead walk.

When to go

Outside match times, and early on summer days given the patchy shade.
