Moore Park

Moore Park, off Russell Terrace in Indooroopilly, is a leafy neighbourhood park where a big tree canopy does most of the work on hot days. Dogs walk here on a lead.

Lead rules

Brisbane City Council manages the park, and it is not a designated off-leash area. Keep dogs on a lead through the park and around the sports oval.

The walk

Concrete paths and packed grass and earth tracks run beneath established trees, past open lawns and community fitness equipment. George Watt Oval is the sunny open stretch in the middle.

Around the edges, volunteer bushcare groups are restoring native bush, which adds to the quiet, back-to-nature feel locals like.

Water and shade

There is plenty of shade away from the oval. Taps are around the oval precinct, but carry a bowl if you plan a longer loop, and bins are placed throughout. Public toilets are on site off Russell Terrace.

When to go

The canopy makes Moore Park a sensible summer choice. Stick to the tree-lined edges when the oval is in full sun.
