Merlin Oval

Merlin Oval on Merlin Street is Falcon's local run. The City of Mandurah lists it as a dog exercise area, so dogs can be off lead on the big open turf when sport is not on.

Leads and the off-lead area

Dogs may run off lead under effective control while the oval is not in use for organised sport. When a game or training is on, clip the lead back on.

There is a children's playground beside the field, so keep your dog clear of it.

The ground

This is a wide grass AFL oval with a gravel surround and a community pavilion, rather than a paved walking trail. Trees around the edge give partial shade.

Bins sit around the perimeter. Dog water is not guaranteed, so bring a bottle and bowl.

Make a day of it

Finish with a coffee at Seven Trees Coffee or down at Falcon Bay Beach Cafe.

Park on Merlin Street beside the reserve. It suits dogs who want room to stretch out, and early mornings avoid both heat and sport.
