Long Gully Trail

Bendigo's Long Gully Trail is a sealed shared path through Long Gully in the city's north, around the Lake Weeroona area. Dogs are welcome on lead the whole way.

Lead rules

The City of Greater Bendigo manages the trail, and dogs must stay on a lead at all times. Walkers, runners and cyclists all share it, so keep the lead short when bikes pass.

The walk

The path mixes asphalt and concrete, easy going for most dogs. It follows old drainage lines past local reserves and urban waterways, with reminders of the area's gold mining past along the way.

No confirmed distance is published, so turn around whenever your dog has had enough.

When to go

In summer, walk early, as shade along the route is not confirmed. The sealed surface suits older dogs and short legs; bring water for the dog.
