Twist Kebab and Malwa Fusion Junction is a food truck parked in the grounds of the North Bendigo Bowls Club, blending Middle Eastern kebabs with Indian street food. The open-air club grounds are where dogs fit in, which makes it an easy, low-fuss feed with your dog along.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome on lead in the open-air outdoor seating and paved areas of the club grounds beside the truck. There is no indoor dining to worry about, since it is order-and-sit-outside by nature. Dog bowls are sometimes put out, but bring your own water and a treat for the wait, and keep your dog clear of the order window when the dinner queue builds.

The food

The menu spans Indian curries and masala chai, generous Middle Eastern kebabs, falafel and a much-talked-about noodle burger, plus Western comforts like burgers and fish and chips. Weekday lunch specials and family feasts are the value picks, and reviewers regularly call out the helpful owners and the spice levels if you ask for them. It opens 11am to 9pm, closed Tuesdays.

Getting there and parking

Find the truck at 42-54 Fenton Street, North Bendigo, off the Midland Highway, with ample parking on site at the bowls club and bus stops along Fenton Street. Ken Waddington Reserve is a couple of minutes away for an open grassy run, and Weeroona Park is under five minutes' drive with shaded walking paths.
