Keilor Park Recreation Reserve

The reserve listed as Keilor Recreation Reserve is signed as Keilor Park Recreation Reserve, on Stadium Drive in Keilor Park, next door to Keilor. It is a sports hub first, but its paths and an enclosed dog area at the east end make it worth a stop.

Leads and the off-lead area

Brimbank City Council runs the reserve. Dogs stay on lead around the sports ovals and across the general recreation areas.

The exception is the enclosed off-lead dog park at the east end, which has agility equipment. Let the dog loose there, then clip back on for the rest of the walk.

Around the reserve

Concrete and asphalt paths link the fields, with gravel and turf around the edges. You pass sports grounds, a playground and the club buildings on the way round.

Shade comes from perimeter trees and buildings, while the fields are fully exposed. Bins sit near the pavilion and ovals, and the on-site car parks make arrival easy.

Green Gully Reserve Fenced Dog Park has separate sections for big and small dogs, and Brimbank Park is another nearby option for a walk.

When to go

If balls and whistles wind your dog up, go when the ovals are empty. On hot days bring water, since dog bowls on the walking perimeter are limited.
