House Creek Pathway

House Creek Pathway is a shaded concrete path that follows the creek through Wodonga and West Wodonga, linking a run of local parks. Dogs can be off lead here if they answer reliably to voice commands, which is not the norm on a town path.

Leads and control

Wodonga Council allows dogs on the path under effective control, either on a lead or responding reliably to voice and hand commands. Near playgrounds, in signposted areas and in some council reserves, the lead has to go back on.

It is a shared path, so a dog that chases bikes belongs on a lead regardless.

The walk

The pathway is sealed concrete throughout. Native trees shade much of it as it meanders beside the creek from one park to the next.

Make a day of it

For a second walk, try Federation Hill Base Trail nearby, and Daintree Cafe is handy for a coffee.

When to go

The shade makes it a good pick on a warm afternoon. It suits well-trained dogs that can walk off lead around people, and older dogs happy on a smooth surface. Bring water for the dog.
