Pet policy
Dogs must be on lead on the path and within 10 metres either side of it unless signed otherwise (Transport Canberra and City Services).
Quiet wetlands and native grasses follow the creek through Florey, and the Ginninderra Creek Path is an easy on-lead stroll through Belconnen. Like every path in the ACT, the lead stays on.
Lead rules
Transport Canberra and City Services requires dogs to be on a lead and under effective control on all footpaths, community paths and cycle paths in the ACT.
The rule covers a 10-metre buffer on either side of the path too, unless a sign says otherwise. That means no quick off-lead dash onto the grass beside the creek.
The walk
The surface is partly sealed, with asphalt and concrete sections joining packed gravel and natural tracks. It winds through open green space with the creek close by, and links to other paths in neighbouring suburbs.

For a run, head to the Lake Ginninderra Dog Park, then settle in at Stella's By The Lake.
When to go
The flat terrain suits older dogs and relaxed walkers. Bring water for the dog.
