Ferry to Pier Trail

The Ferry to Pier Trail is a short foreshore stroll of roughly 500 to 625 metres, linking the Queenscliff ferry terminal and harbour with the historic pier and Princess Park. Dogs come on lead, and the flat, easy surface makes it one for dogs of any age.

Lead rules

The Borough of Queenscliffe requires dogs on a lead on its foreshore reserves and paths. The nearest place for off-lead play is Narrows Beach, which is open to dogs off lead all year.

The walk

Flat gravel paths lead onto a 125-metre timber boardwalk, and the trail is built for all abilities. Trees around Princess Park give some shade, but much of the boardwalk is open to sun and wind.

Water and parking

Taps are available around the harbour and ferry terminal, and bins sit at the harbour, the terminal and Princess Park. Parking is near the ferry terminal, on Wharf Street and by the harbour, with time limits in places.

Pair it with

Stretch the legs properly afterwards at Point Lonsdale Dog Beach, or sit down at The Salty Breeze Cafe.

It is handy while waiting for the ferry, and gentle enough for older dogs or a slow Sunday stroll.
