Dee Why Headland Walk

The coastal track at North Curl Curl climbs over the headland towards Dee Why, part of the Dee Why Headland Walk. It is sometimes listed as the North Curl Curl Foreshore Path, and the key point is that dogs can walk the headland on lead but are banned from the beach below.

Lead rules

Northern Beaches Council prohibits dogs on the sand at North Curl Curl Beach. On the headland paths and the bushland reserve between Curl Curl and Dee Why, dogs are allowed on lead.

The walk

Expect paved stretches, uneven natural ground, rock stairs and boardwalk. Views run up the coast to Long Reef over sandstone heath and coastal bush.

Shade is scarce on the exposed cliff sections. Carry water and a bowl, and park on Carrington Parade, Huston Parade or at the beach car parks.

Max: Rock stairs and cliff edges need a short lead and a steady dog.
