Burnett Park

Burnett Park is a quiet Traralgon pocket park between Hickox Street and Dunbar Road, and it earns a place on the list for one reason. It is a designated off-lead area, so dogs can stretch their legs without a trip across town.

Leads and the off-lead area

Latrobe City Council lists Burnett Park as an unleashed dog area. Dogs can be exercised off lead here, and you still need them under control and within sight.

The park

It is mostly open grass, dotted with mature trees that give patches of shade. The paths are a mix of paved sections and grass or earth tracks.

The open layout gives clear sightlines, so you can keep an eye on your dog as it plays or sniffs around. Bring water and bags with you, as neither is confirmed on site.

When to go

It works best as a quick everyday run before or after work, rather than a destination. Dogs with solid recall get the most out of it.
