Duck River Nature Trail

The Duck River Nature Trail follows a strip of bushland, mangroves and wetland along the Duck River on the Auburn side. It is a surprisingly green walk for the area, and dogs are welcome on lead.

The trail

The corridor runs through Auburn, Silverwater and South Granville, with the main out-and-back route around 6.9 kilometres. Surfaces change from paved sections to uneven dirt bush track, so wear proper shoes.

Lead rules

Cumberland City Council requires dogs on lead along the Duck River open space. Save off-lead time for one of the council's designated dog parks.

Finish at Handley Street Fenced Dog Park, or continue upstream to the Duck river crossing.

Suits a dog that enjoys bush smells. The dirt sections are uneven, so pick a dry day and bring water.
