Tamworth North Holiday Park

Tamworth North Holiday Park is a quiet, family-run park at Nemingha on the New England Highway just north of Tamworth, with pet-friendly cabins and sites and room for dogs to exercise. Pets need approval from the park manager before you book, so call ahead rather than turning up and hoping. The park

The setup covers spacious caravan and drive-through sites, a camp kitchen, and a batch of newer cabins that guests describe as genuinely spacious. There is open space for pets to exercise, and the park keeps a low-key, country feel despite being minutes from a regional city. A bistro within walking distance covers the evenings you do not feel like cooking.

Pepsi: call first, because the pet cabins are a subset of the park and they do go. Once approved, drive-through sites make late arrivals painless.

Tamworth with the dogs

Tamworth Regional Council runs several fenced off-leash areas. Powerhouse Park in East Tamworth is fully fenced with agility equipment, a separate small-dog area, shade, toilets and drinking water, about ten minutes' drive south. George Street Dog Park in West Tamworth has two large dual enclosures with sheltered seating and water stations. The Western Levee Bank offers a linear leash-free stretch if your dog prefers a long walk to park socialising.
