Front Beach Torquay Beach House is a two-bedroom self-contained house a few steps from Torquay's front beach, and it's set up for dogs rather than merely tolerating them. Dogs are allowed inside, there's a securely fenced rear yard, and a doggy door for small dogs, which is a rare combination this close to the sand.

The beach out front

The house sits opposite the dog-friendly beaches, and the Surf Coast Shire rules make timing worth checking before you go. Nearby Fishermans Beach runs as a time-share beach: from December to February and over Easter, dogs are off the sand between 9am and 7pm but off-lead in the evenings and mornings, and from March to November it's off-lead all day under effective control. Whites Beach and sections of the surf beach allow dogs off-lead at all times. Check the signage at each access point, because it varies beach by beach.

The Esplanade strip near the house is well served for dog-friendly coffee: Bomboras at number 37 has outdoor decking across from the coast, Pond Cafe at 39 does a solid breakfast with a dog-welcoming outdoor area, and The Salty Dog Cafe at 47 puts water bowls out for pups.
