Creekside Estate

Creekside Estate is a 112-acre farm stay at 240 Mount Faulk Road in Cooranbong, on the western edge of Lake Macquarie in NSW. The property offers a four-bedroom house and a three-bedroom home that can be booked separately or combined, with rural views, farm animals including goats and chickens, and a pool. For dog owners, the draw is space: paddocks and quiet rather than footpaths and traffic.

The estate's own site promotes the cottages as pet friendly, and dogs are allowed to stay overnight. But there is no published size limit and no fixed pet fee, and some third-party listings for individual houses on the estate have shown stricter house rules. The pet terms are worked out per booking, so message the host through the booking platform before you commit and get approval, any size restrictions and any fee in writing.

Worth knowing

This is a working-farm setting with roaming livestock, which is exactly why the pet rules vary by cottage and why a leash matters around the animals. Guests rate the property well for cleanliness and book it as a weekend-getaway base. It suits owners who want quiet and open ground over walkable amenities; Cooranbong village is close by for supplies, but this is a drive-everywhere property.

Getting there

Mount Faulk Road runs out of Cooranbong towards the Watagan Mountains foothills, about 10 to 15 minutes from the lake's western shore and roughly an hour and a half north of Sydney. You will want a car here; the nearest dog-friendly attractions are all a short drive away.

Close by with the dogs

The Avondale Dairy Walk is an easy on-lead walk in Cooranbong itself, and the Dora Creek Dog Exercise Area is the closest off-lead option.
