Al Forno

Al Forno is a casual Mediterranean-style restaurant at 19 Bussell Highway in West Busselton, known for gourmet pizzas and generous European mains such as beef bourguignon, osso bucco and lamb shanks. It runs dinner from 5pm, Tuesday to Sunday, with Monday closed, and dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating along the front of the restaurant.

The dog setup

Dogs join you at the outdoor tables along the front, leashed and settled beside your chair. Water bowls are sometimes put out, but bring your own to be sure. Weekend evenings get busy, so book ahead and ask for an outside table when you do; a mild evening makes the front row the best seat in the house anyway.

Worth knowing

Al Forno is BYO and has a reputation for solid value and big serves: lasagne, carbonara and chicken parmigiana sit alongside the slow-cooked specials, and the pizzas handle the kids' table easily. It is unpretentious family-restaurant territory, which suits a dog at your feet far better than a hushed dining room.

Getting there and parking

The restaurant is on Bussell Highway in West Busselton, the main road heading into town from the east. There is a free on-site car park plus free street parking along the highway service road, so arriving by car with a dog is easy. Busselton Foreshore is about five minutes away for an on-leash walk before or after your meal.
