Bay Bay's on Scarborough

Bay Bay's on Scarborough is a relaxed, Mediterranean-leaning seafood restaurant and bar on Manning Street, a block back from the Scarborough beachfront. It trades across lunch and dinner daily, with weekend breakfast sittings, and the outdoor area is where dog owners want to be for the coastal evening light.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor and courtyard tables, not inside. Keep your dog on a lead and settled beside the table; the footpath side gets foot traffic on warm evenings. Water bowls are generally available, but pack a portable one for peak times. As with any beachfront venue, the policy can shift with seasons and events, so a quick call ahead is worth it before a special trip with the dog.

On the plate

The kitchen is built around fresh WA seafood, largely grilled rather than fried: the seafood platter piles up prawns, scallops, oysters and snapper, and the pork ribs and braised beef cheek cover the land side. There is a wine and cocktail list to match, and the budget-friendly weekday specials keep locals coming back. Sunset is the busiest window, and it is a fair trade for the light.

Getting there and parking

The address is Shop 2-3/1 Manning Street, Scarborough, a short walk off the main beachfront strip. Street parking runs along Manning Street and the surrounding blocks, and the main beach car parks are nearby; bays tighten up sharply around sunset on summer weekends. Coming from the coastal path, you can walk in without reparking.

Close by with the dogs

The Scarborough Esplanade coastal path is a few minutes away for a pre-dinner walk.
