Roots Collective Cafe

Roots Collective is the community-minded cafe at 46 Broad Street in central Sarina, opening early on the main street with a coffee reputation that reaches well past town. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables, and the footpath setup along Broad Street means you can settle in with your dog without threading through the indoor room.

Dogs join you at the front footpath tables, on lead and under control. Staff have a welcoming reputation and will generally bring a water bowl out if you ask, though bringing your own is the safe play on busy mornings. Because everything happens at street level, arrivals and exits are easy, and you never need to take a dog through the indoor dining space.

The kitchen leans on local suppliers for produce, dairy and meat, and the menu runs from hearty breakfast plates through to lighter lunch options, with vegetarian and vegan choices along the way. Coffee is the headline act, alongside iced drinks and a solid tea list. Live music turns up from time to time, which lifts the atmosphere but can make the footpath busier for settling a dog.

Weekday doors open at 5:30am, with kitchen service from 7am, trading through to 2:30pm Monday to Friday. Weekend hours run from 8am to 2pm, so plan a later start on Saturday and Sunday.

46 Broad Street sits on the main run through Sarina, roughly half an hour south of Mackay. On-street parking is available directly out front, with free off-street parking close by, so you are never far from the car even with a dog in tow.
