Twenty20 Tapas

Twenty20 Tapas sits at 25a Moore Street in central Moe, serving breakfast through to dinner seven days a week, and it is one of the few spots in the Latrobe Valley doing proper share plates. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables out front, but the footpath seating is limited, so a little planning pays off.

The dog setup

Dogs join you at the front outdoor tables; the indoor dining room and the back deck areas are off-limits, partly because food is actively handled in those sections. The outdoor seats are few and popular, so book ahead and mention you have a dog, or call the venue on (03) 5127 8210 to confirm a table in the front zone. Bring your own water bowl, since a table-side bowl is not guaranteed.

Worth knowing

The menu runs wide: breakfast plates early, then tapas like pork belly bao, croquettes, sliders and arancini, with a charcuterie board and scallop dishes among the signatures. There are vegetarian and vegan options through the menu, and the drinks list covers cocktails, local craft beers and specialty coffee if you are there in the morning.

Getting there and parking

On-street parking runs along Moore Street, with public car parks behind the main-street shops when the front is full. Moe station is a short walk away if you are coming up the Gippsland line from Melbourne or Traralgon.

Close by with the dogs

Edward Hunter Bush Reserve off Coalville Road is the best local walk: about 40 hectares of bushland around a central lake, on-lead only. The Moe-Yallourn Rail Trail makes an easy on-lead stretch too. For off-leash time, Latrobe City's unleashed dog areas include College Park and Burrage Reserve at Newborough, both a short drive away.
