Union Kitchen

Union Kitchen sits right on the water's edge at Mindarie Marina, 33 Ocean Falls Boulevard, and it has built a reputation as one of Perth's most dog-committed kitchens. This is not a venue that merely tolerates dogs at two token tables: there is a dedicated canine menu, loaner dog beds in the alfresco area and a doggy wall of fame by the entrance. It opens 8am to 3pm daily.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome throughout the alfresco and marina-facing seating, leashed and under effective control per City of Wanneroo rules. Water bowls sit around the seating area and dog beds are put out so pups can settle properly while you eat. The canine menu runs to puppuccinos, Mutt Shakes and treats like Cheezi Katz, Banana Paws and Woofz, so a dog that behaves gets fed as well as the humans.

The kitchen

For the people there is an all-day menu with marina views from nearly every outdoor table: chicken and waffles, steak sandwiches, seafood platters and breakfast staples. Weekends draw a busy, family-heavy crowd; weekday mornings are the calm window for a dog that prefers space.

Getting there and a walk after

Free public parking is plentiful across the marina complex, a short walk from the restaurant. Dogs on-lead are allowed along the marina boardwalks and common outdoor areas, so a perimeter lap before or after eating is easy. One caution for walkers: Clayton's Beach to the south has traditionally been prohibited for dogs under Wanneroo coastal laws, and a council proposal to allow dogs on part of that coast has been through consultation, so check the signage at the Alexandria View access before assuming the sand is open to your dog.
