Snapper Rocks

Snapper Rocks is a casual seafood restaurant and bar at B2/7 Kitchener Drive in the Darwin Waterfront precinct, doing local NT seafood with the marina and parklands as the backdrop. Dogs are welcome through the outdoor alfresco seating, which has room for a dog to settle properly beside the table rather than be squeezed against a footpath rail. It opens 11:30am to 9pm every day, and the daily 3pm to 5pm happy hour is a relaxed window to arrive with a dog in tow.

The dog setup

Dogs sit in the alfresco area overlooking the wharf, on lead and beside your seat. The outdoor room is generous and the beach-house style setup with water misting keeps the Top End heat tolerable, which matters as much for your dog as for you. Staff are dog-friendly, though it is worth confirming on arrival at busy peak times. Water bowls are not guaranteed, so carry your own. Inside remains people-only, standard for Territory health rules.

From the kitchen

The menu leans hard into local catch: fish wings and snapper ceviche to start, reef fish and chips and poke bowls for mains, plus a seafood board and the daily local catch for sharing. The drinks list covers signature cocktails and a curated wine and gin shelf. Lunch or early dinner gives you the best of the marina light without the evening crowd.

Getting there

The precinct sits below the Darwin CBD and is flat and fully paved, an easy walk from the city centre. Parking along Kitchener Drive and around the Waterfront is a mix of free time-limited and paid bays, and it tightens on weekend evenings. Note the Territory-wide caution: keep your dog well back from open water edges, as saltwater crocodiles are a real presence in Darwin's natural waterways. Stick to the paved boardwalks and park side.

Close by with the dogs

The Waterfront boardwalks are made for an on-lead loop before or after a meal, and Bicentennial Park adds grass a short walk away.
