Neapolitan Pizzeria

Neapolitan Pizzeria at 494 Nepean Highway, Chelsea is a small wood-fired pizza spot on the Chelsea strip, a short walk from the beach. The dough ferments for 72 hours before hitting the oven, and the pizzas are proper Napoletana style with Italian tomato and fior di latte. Dogs are generally allowed at the outdoor seating, and the whole thing trades evenings rather than daytime.

Keep your dog leashed and settled out of the walkway, and bring your own water bowl as there is no dedicated dog kit here.

Worth knowing

The menu is all about the pizza: a signature with sopressata, prosciutto and fresh chilli, a diavola with spicy salami and 'nduja, capocollo, sausage, prawn and vegetarian antipasto options. Hours run Thursday to Saturday and Sunday evenings from 5pm, with Friday starting earlier at 4:30pm, and Monday to Wednesday closed, so it is a dinner stop rather than a lunch one.

Getting there and parking

The pizzeria sits on the Nepean Highway in central Chelsea. Street parking runs along the highway, and side streets such as Thames Promenade are the fallback when the frontage fills. Access off the highway is flat and easy.
