What visitors mention
Headlands Hotel Brasserie & Bar is a rebuilt beachfront pub on Headland Avenue, right above Austinmer Beach, with ocean views from a large outdoor deck and garden.
The dog setup. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor covered patio and garden area, on a leash and well-behaved. They're not permitted inside the main restaurant and bar. Staff are used to dogs and outdoor seating makes it easy to set a water bowl down.
Known for. Wood-fired pizzas and seafood, panoramic ocean views from the deck, and live music on weekends, it's a popular spot for a sunset drink after a beach walk.
Getting there. Free onsite parking is available, plus free street parking nearby. Access from the car park to the outdoor dining area is flat and easy.
Nearby with the dogs. Austinmer Beach is right next door for a walk (check signage for on/off-leash times), and Little Austinmer Beach is about an 8-9 minute walk south for a proper off-leash swim.
When to go. Outdoor tables get busy for weekend sunsets and when live music is on, so arrive early if you want a spot with the dog. Note the hotel's own apartments don't allow pets inside, that policy is separate from the outdoor dining area.
