Hobart Beer Culture co

Hobart Beer Culture Co pours Tasmanian beer and nothing else, from a converted pump warehouse at 50 Letitia Street in North Hobart. The taps carry locally brewed craft from the likes of T-Bone, Shambles and Hobart Brewing Co, alongside Tasmanian whisky, gin and wine from independent producers. The one fact that matters for dog owners: dogs are welcome in the outdoor area only.

The dog setup

Dogs are restricted to the outdoor space, which includes the backyard area where the permanent Fried and Loaded food truck parks, and they must stay on lead, standard for a food-serving venue. No water bowls are advertised, so bring your own and sort hydration before you order. Because indoor access is off the table, your visit lives or dies on the weather, so call ahead if the sky looks marginal.

The vibe

The setting is casual and community minded, with live music sessions on a small stage and a rotating showcase that gives smaller garage brewers without taprooms a spot to pour. A cafe side runs in the mornings with Botero coffee, and the bar trades from midday into the evening.

Pepsi: target the sunny afternoon window rather than an evening session. The outdoor courtyard is the whole case for bringing the dog, and Hobart evenings turn cold fast.

Getting there

The venue sits on Letitia Street, an easy walk from the North Hobart restaurant strip along Elizabeth Street. Street parking runs along Letitia and the surrounding side streets, though it tightens on weekends.
