Woorree Park Fenced Dog Park

Woorree Park Fenced Dog Park is a large, fully fenced off-leash ground in Woorree on the outskirts of Geraldton, sharing its precinct with the BMX track and Polo Club. The drawcard is simple: two separate fenced exercise areas with reliable shade, making it one of the few properly secure spots in Geraldton for a high-energy run.

The dog setup

Two fully enclosed off-leash zones give you room to separate your dog from a boisterous crowd, with mature trees providing genuine shade across the exercise areas. Water access for dogs, BBQs and seating sit on site, and parking is immediately adjacent to the enclosures.

The house rules are firmer than most parks: dogs must be healthy and fully vaccinated, sterilised or kept out if a female is in season, and under effective control at all times. Off-leash privileges apply strictly inside the fenced zones, and owners clean up using the provided facilities.

The vibe

This is a drive-to sporting precinct rather than a suburban pocket park, so the crowd is deliberate: owners who want a safe, contained run. Beyond the fences, the adjacent polo fields offer extra space for an on-lead walk to stretch things out.

Max: two enclosures means you can start your dog in the quieter one and swap once they have burned the first burst. That is the trick for a high-energy dog.

Getting there and parking

The park is reached via the Woorree sporting precinct roads near the Geraldton Polo Club and BMX track. There is no useful public transit connection, but the dedicated on-site parking lets you unload directly at the gate.

Make a day of it

Head back toward Geraldton town centre for a coffee at Remi French Cafe or a pub meal at The Murchison Tavern. If you are staying overnight, Geraldton Caravan Park takes dogs.
