Fraser Street Reserve Fenced Dog Park sits at 23 Fraser Street in Melton South, a compact but well-equipped off-lead enclosure inside a broader recreational reserve. Its best feature is the one you notice on a 35-degree day: mature gum trees throw genuine shade across the enclosure, so dogs running hard in summer are not stuck baking on open grass. Leash status

Off-lead applies only inside the fenced compound, which has a double-gated entry. The fencing is secure, but you are responsible for watching your own dog around any gaps. Outside the enclosure, across the reserve, shared paths and playground, the leash goes back on. Council rules require effective voice control at all times, immediate cleanup with the on-site bag dispensers and bins, and removal of any dog showing aggression.

Water and terrain

The enclosure mixes grass with wood-chip sections under the trees, and a drinking fountain sits near the public shelter, though a backup water bowl is worth packing on hot days when the fountain queue builds. Benches give you somewhere to settle, and the wider reserve adds a kick-about space, BBQ facilities, a playground, fitness machines, public toilets and a shared path.

The reserve is on Fraser Street, Melton South, reached via Melton Highway, with street parking along the surrounding residential streets. Melton railway station on the V/Line network is a short walk away if you are arriving by train with a leashed dog.
