Ruins Cafe

Ruins Cafe sits on John Oxley Drive in the Lake Innes area of Port Macquarie, named for the historic Lake Innes ruins nearby. It is a relaxed, quaint cafe rather than a sit-down restaurant, and unlike the beachside strip it stays calm, which is exactly why locals with dogs favour it.

The cafe is on John Oxley Drive near the Lake Innes Shopping Centre, with easy parking at the back or side, making it the car-friendly option compared with the central CBD cafes. Hours run 6:30am to 4pm weekdays and 7am to 2pm weekends, so mornings are the reliable window.

While you're out there

The historic Lake Innes ruins are close by for a leashed walk through scenic surrounds, though access to the structures themselves can be restricted. For an off-lead run, the Stuart Park Fenced Dog Park is a short drive, and Bloom PMQ is the in-town cafe alternative for the next morning.
