57 COFFEE BAR

57 Coffee Bar is a small, no-frills coffee bar at Shop 2, 2A Waters Road, Neutral Bay, just off the Military Road strip. Its footpath tables make it a natural pause point on a dog walk, and the coffee, roasted and ground on-site, is the reason people come back.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the footpath seating, where you can tie up and settle in while you order. Water bowls are often out for passing dogs, though a travel bowl of your own is worth packing for slower days. Indoor space is tight, so plan on the outdoor tables being the whole visit.

Worth knowing

Consistently called one of the better local brews, with a short menu of made-to-order breakfast items like smashed-avo bagels, sourdough toasts and Turkish-bread sandwiches at fair prices. This is a quick-stop coffee bar rather than a sit-down brunch destination. Trading runs weekdays from 7am, Saturdays from 8am to mid-afternoon, and it closes Sundays, so weekend walkers need another plan. Street parking in the surrounding streets is signed with time limits, and the bar is a short walk from the Military Road bus stops.

Close by with the dogs

The Primrose Park Walking Track is the proper walk to pair with it, a bush-and-harbour circuit a few minutes south, and Primrose Park itself has dedicated off-leash areas on the sports ovals. The Oaks covers a longer dog-friendly session nearby, and Little Bear Pantry is the neighbourhood cafe alternative.
