Zeekas cafe

Zeekas Cafe is a casual acai and coffee spot on the Kingsway in Miranda that takes dogs at indoor tables as well as outside, which makes it a reliable stop whatever the weather is doing.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at tables inside and in the outdoor seating, provided they are well behaved and kept under control. Water bowls are put out for visiting dogs, and the cafe has a reputation for the odd treat for its four-legged regulars. Bring a mat if your dog likes a spot to settle while you eat.

The vibe

It is a quick, unpretentious kind of place. Zeekas is known for generously topped acai bowls, including evening acai nights, plus well-made coffee, bacon and egg rolls, wraps, burgers and sweet potato fries for something more savoury.

Opening hours run 7am to 3pm Monday to Friday, with the cafe closed on weekends, so plan your visit for a weekday.

Getting there and parking

You will find it at Shop 1/533 Kingsway, Miranda. Free street parking is nearby but fills up during peak hours, and it is an easy walk from Miranda train station or a stop on the main bus routes.

Close by with the dogs

Leo Smith Reserve and Miranda Park are both a short trip away for a walk before or after your coffee, and the same goes for the foreshore paths around Seymour Shaw Park if you want to earn the acai first.

Onikki is another dog-friendly cafe on the same stretch of the Kingsway, and the Gymea Hotel is a short drive up the road for a pub meal with the dog at outdoor tables.
