Westy’s Cafe

Westy's Cafe is a casual breakfast and lunch spot in the Jubilee Central complex at 1 Erromango Drive, Jubilee Pocket, a few minutes' drive from Airlie Beach. It opens at 6am on weekdays, and the outdoor seating welcomes leashed dogs, which makes it an easy first stop before a day around the Whitsundays.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables as long as they stay on a lead. The space is relaxed and local in feel, well suited to a dog settling at your feet while you eat. Water bowls and treats are not guaranteed on every visit, so pack your own bowl and keep the dog clear of the foot traffic near the shops.

Worth knowing

Portions are the drawcard here. The Works burger is a stacked local legend that usually needs cutlery, and the eggs Benedict, egg and bacon rolls and big breakfast plates all get repeat orders. Seafood is done properly too, with the fish and chips a frequent standout. Coffee is solid, prices are fair, and hours run 6am to 2pm Monday to Friday and 6am to noon on Saturday, with the cafe closed on Sundays.

Getting there and parking

There is free on-site parking at the complex plus street parking nearby, so arriving by car with a dog is simple. It sits on the way through Jubilee Pocket towards Shute Harbour, which makes it a natural stop on a morning drive.

Close by with the dogs

The Airlie Beach Boardwalk is a short drive away for an on-lead stroll with water views, and the Cannonvale Dog Exercise Area gives the dog an off-lead run. For another coffee stop in the area, Rufus & Co. Cafe and Fat Frog Beach Cafe are both worth the detour.
