Alleycats Espresso

Alleycats Espresso is a small, fast-moving coffee stop right on the Sorrento Quay boardwalk at Hillarys Boat Harbour, and it's a regular pit stop for locals doing the dog beach loop.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables directly in front of the shop, under the awning. Keep leads on and dogs close, the walkway gets narrow and busy with foot traffic. Water bowls are generally put out for dogs, and puppuccinos turn up often enough to ask for one.

Known for. Quick, quality espresso, bagels and a solid brekky wrap. It's more grab-a-coffee-and-go than a long sit-down brunch spot.

Getting there. It's inside the main Hillarys Boat Harbour precinct on Southside Drive. Parking throughout the harbour is free, the closest bays are behind the Southside Drive shops or the lot on the marina's south side.

Nearby with the dogs. Hillarys Dog Beach is a short drive or a decent walk away for the main event, and the marina boardwalk itself makes for an easy on-leash wander before or after coffee.

Go early if you want a table, the boardwalk fills up fast once the sun's out.
