Kynefin Cafe

Kynefin is a cosy village cafe in Hall, ACT, built around house-made comfort food and a courtyard that's become a regular stop for Canberra's dog walking crowd.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcomed in the outdoor courtyard, which has both sun and shade and well-spaced tables. Water bowls are put out for dogs. Only assistance dogs are allowed inside the main cafe, so plan on the courtyard for your visit, and keep dogs on a lead given the courtyard sits close to a country road.

Known for. House-made Bombolini doughnuts, bacon and egg rolls, crumpets, savoury pies and homemade jams, most of the menu is made on site.

Getting there. 2-4 Victoria Street, Hall ACT, a short drive from Gungahlin or central Canberra. Free street parking is available along Victoria Street near the Hall Village shops.

Nearby with the dogs. Hall's quiet streets make for an easy walk before or after coffee, and if you're visiting on the second Sunday of the month, the Hall Markets nearby are dog-friendly too.

Go early on weekends if you want a quieter courtyard, groups of dog walkers are known to gather there. Confirm opening days before visiting, as village cafes often close midweek.
