The setup. Hours run early and short: Monday to Friday 6am to 1pm, Saturday from 7am, Sunday 8am to noon. It is a quick, casual stop rather than a sit-down spot, so bring a bowl if your dog needs a drink.

Known for. The coffee, plainly. It carries a near-perfect local rating and a steady reputation as one of the better cups in the southern suburbs, with a small food offering alongside.

Getting there. Street parking on Beach Road, plus a public car park off Clement Terrace behind the retail strip. It is a flat five-minute walk from the foreshore, so arriving on foot with the dog is simple.

Best as the start or finish of a Beach Road and foreshore loop, timed before the 1pm close.
