Chief n Co is a quick-service cafe and drive-thru on Victoria Avenue in Castle Hill, built around specialty coffee and a healthy, high-protein menu. It opens at 5am on weekdays, which makes it one of the earliest coffee stops in the Hills district, and the whole setup is geared to moving fast rather than lingering.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor footpath seating, and this is a grab-and-go stop rather than a sit-down cafe, so it suits a walk that is already underway. Water bowls sometimes appear at the tables, but bringing your own is the safer bet. If you roll through the drive-thru with the dog in the car, staff come out to take orders with mobile EFTPOS, so nobody has to leave the vehicle.

The menu leans into clean, high-protein eating: fresh wraps, protein shakes, superfood smoothies, banana bread and their well-known Biscoff protein balls sit alongside the coffee. The ham, cheese and tomato toastie and the avocado smash are the regular food orders. Hours are 5am to 2pm Monday to Friday, 6am to 1pm Saturday and closed Sunday. There is no customer restroom onsite, and mornings move briskly, so treat it as an in-and-out stop.

The address is 23 Victoria Avenue, Castle Hill. Street parking directly outside is limited, with more commercial parking nearby along the avenue, and the drive-thru is reached via the rear driveway for a quick pick-up. The entrance and parking are wheelchair accessible.

The Coolong Reserve Fenced Dog Park is a few minutes away on Coolong Street, with a fully fenced yard, agility equipment and a water station, so an off-lead play session pairs neatly with a takeaway coffee. For an on-lead bushwalk, the Bidjigal Reserve Platypus Track is close by too, or you can keep it simple with a loop through the quiet residential streets around Victoria Avenue.
