The Coffee Chief is a coffee cart on the Aspendale foreshore at Gnotuk Avenue, parked right by the sand. It is a favourite stop for beach dog walkers, with wooden chairs facing the water and dogs welcome on the lead beside the cart.

The dog setup. Everything here is outdoors on the foreshore, so dogs are welcome on the lead right by the cart. There is casual wooden seating looking over the beach where you can sit with your dog and watch the waves. Staff are used to a steady stream of dog walkers coming off the sand.

Good to know. Tuesday to Friday from 6am, weekends from 6.30am, closed Mondays, wrapping up around 11.30am. It is a small cart-and-chairs setup rather than a sit-down cafe, built around good coffee and the sea view.

Getting there. Free street parking runs along Gnotuk Avenue, and the cart sits right on the beachfront off the Aspendale bay trail, an easy walk for local residents.

The beach is directly in front, and the foreshore path links along the bay toward Mordialloc and Parkdale. Check the current off-leash hours, which are restricted over summer.
